Family of John Hamilton Scott

JOHN HAMILTON2 SCOTT was born Abt. 1795 - Residence in Middletown, Monmouth Co, New Jersey in 1821, and died Bef. October 13, 1845 in Knox Co, Ohio. He married SARAH HOFFMIRE Abt. 1821in New Jersey, daughter of WILLIAM HOFFMIRE (b 1765) and SARAH SWART. She was born March 08, 1803 Perhaps in Tapen, or Middletown, Monmouth Co, New Jersey, and died March 05, 1878 in Wysox, Carroll Co, Illinois.

John & Sarah Hoffmire Scott moved to Trumansburg area of Tompkins County, New York 1829-1830, with their four children.  Sarah's Uncle Thomas Hoffmire (1761-1846) appears to have lived here before that time - his wife Mary Schanck (1778-1846) is buried in the Trumansburg Grove Cemetery.  John & Sarah had (5) children while living in this area, including twin boys born 1835 named Harvey & Harsey King Scott.  They appear to be named after two men in Trumansburg Grove Cemetery, Harvey & Harsey King born 1796 & 1794.  If you know of a connection between the King family buried in Trumansburg Grove Cemetery & John & Sarah Hoffmire Scott's family, please let me know.

John & Sarah Hoffmire Scott moved to Pennsylvania about 1837, where another Uncle Samuel Hoffmire (1763-1837) had lived very early in the 1800's.  Samuel moved to Knox Co, Ohio where he died, & where his sons Isaac (1790-1863) (& wife Margaret Packer Hoffmire) lived, as well as his other children.  John & Sarah Hoffmire also moved to Ohio before 1839 when their son Isaac was born in Morrow Co, Ohio.    John Hoffmire died in 1845 & probate papers were filed in Knox Co, Ohio.  If anyone knows where he is buried I would appreciate that information also.  Sarah Hoffmire moved on to Carroll Co, Illinois where she married Leonard Goss in 1850 & Edwin Olds in 1861.  Sarah died March 5, 1878 in Wysox, Carroll Co, Illinois & she is buried in Union Cemetery there with other members of her family.  All her sons' were soldiers in the Civil War.

Isaac Scott, son of Sarah & John Hamilton Scott,  moved to Iowa after the Civil War & married Sarah Philippi there, she had been born in Pennsylvania.  The daughter of Isaac & Sarah Scott, Mary Amy Scott, married Lucius Darby, son of Thomas & Frances Bement Darby, in 1888, in Clarksville, Iowa.  Thomas & Frances were from Dryden, Tompkins Co, New York, had migrated to Iowa in 1868 with their only son Lucius, age 8 months old.  If anyone has any information they would share about any relationship between the Hoffmire's, Kings, & Scotts that lived in Trumansburg, Tompkins County, in the 1830's, I would like to hear from them.  Harvey & Harsey King seem like unusual names & I'd like to know more about them & their relationship to the John & Sarah Hoffmire Scott family.
