Gibbs Family Burying Ground at Esty Glen

Location: Burdick Hill Road
Turn off Route 34B onto Burdick Hill Road. Cemetery is approximately 1/8 of a mile, right hand side of the road, across a ravine in a field. This cemetery can be seen from the road, however, it is on private property that is posted.
Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, NY.
Cemetery is inactive.

New York's Finger Lakes Pioneer Families, by Helen F. Lewis, Kinship, 1991, states that Garret Goodwin Gibbs, son of Samuel Gibbs, was born ca. 1783 in New Jersey. His wife, Nancy (Ann Bigelow), daughter of Oliver, was born ca. 1790 in Pennsylvania. Garret G. Gibbs died 5 Mar. 1857, age 74. Nancy Bigelow, wife of Garret Gibbs, died 13 April 1870, aged 80 years, 4 mos. and 22 days. Children of Garret Goodwin Gibbs and Nancy Bigelow were:
 1. Garret G., Jr. d. 8 Oct. 1816, aged 11 yrs 5 mo 22 days.
 2. Nancy
 3. Berentha b. 24 June 1812; m. Joseph Harris (1812–1888)
 4. Oliver b. ca. 1816
 5. Elias (b. ca. 1820?)
 6. Barzilla "Barney" (lived Geneva, NY 1857; Springport, NY 1870)
 7. Louise G. died 15 May 1840, age 29-11-15; m. Dr. H. K. Webster; they had a son, Henry G., who lived in Illinois in 1870.
 8. Catharine V. died 2 June 1855, aged 27 yrs.
 9. Franklin G. (deceased by 1870; they had 2 daughters who lived in Wyocena, Columbia Co., Wisc.)
10. Sabra died 13 May 1809, aged 7 weeks.
11. Samuel died 3 Jan. 1819, age 3 days.
12. Munroe died 8 Mar. 1824, aged 11 mos., 6 days.
