Letter donated by David Cook a student who brought in this 1852 letter in which a person agreed to teach in Summer Hill School for $3.50 a week.

In reply to your answer of this morning, I will say to you and other concerned, that I will teach your school in Summerhill the coming winter (Extraordinary excepted). My price is three and a half dollars per week. $3.50

Sylvanius J. Carpenter - of Groton, N.Y. is the Proprietor of four ------Shares of the capital stock of the GROTON ACADEMY, transferable at the OFFICE of the Secretary ony, by the said Stockholder, or by his Attorney, on surrender of this Certificate. Twenty-Five Dollars on each share is herby acknowledged to have been received.
