December 14, 2006 (Schools)	Dave Seely has scanned and donated a fantastic photograph of the class of the Cornell Winter Dairy Course, 1909-10. Once you go to this page, you can click a link to view a much larger version of the photo and (hopefully) see an ancestor. There are 109 people listed in the photo. Please be patient, though, because this is a really large photo - it may take some time to load. Thank you, Dave!

December 5, 2006 (Wills)	Forrester ("Woody") Lee has transcribed and donated the Will of George Duplex, son of Prince Duplex, an African American Revolutionary War Soldier who moved from Connecticut to Danby, NY, to the website. He has done a great deal of research on this family, and there will likely be more to add in the future. Thank you, Woody!

November 17, 2006 (Scrapbook)	Kem Hart-Baker has donated the Autograph Book of Burton Billington to the Tompkins County NYGenWeb website. She scanned the cover and 45 pages of Burton's friends and relatives, most of whom very kindly added the date and their residence to their signature. For the lucky people who are related to the signers in this book, you will have a gained unique and personal insight into your ancestor's life. Thank you Kem, for all your hard work on this project!

September 12, 2006 (Cemeteries)	Sheryl Monroe and Connie Bradford have been walking cemeteries and transcribed previously unrecorded information (nearly 70 new inscriptions!) to Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, in West Danby. A big thanks to Sheryl and Connie!

August 17, 2006 (School)	I have no idea what I've been doing with my time all summer, but it is clear that our volunteers have been very busy! Jim Rolfe had transcribed the School Disctrict 23 (Caroline) Records, which was found in the attic of a house his father owned 30 years ago. August 17, 2006 (Deeds)	And Susan Darbe-Cieslak has transcribed the entire A section of the microfilm of the Index to Deeds for Tompkins County, 1817 - 1860 Inclusive. What a huge undertaking! We're so grateful for Susan's hard work and dedication on this project. Thanks Susan!

Note: If you used to find a particular map by going to the Off-Site Resources page, you can now find it on the new maps page.
March 31, 2006 (Cemeteries)	Rob van Nortwick of Amsterdam (the Netherlands not New York) has provided updated information about the Van Nortwick family buried in Green Hills Cemetery, located in Dryden. He has also donated photos of headstones, which you can view by clicking the headstone icon next to the person's name. Thank you Rob!
March 31, 2006 (Cemeteries)	We have updated added photographs of headstones to Crowbar Point Cemetery, located in Ulysses. With this record, we are starting a new feature of our Cemeteries pages. You can view the photographs of headstones by clicking on the icon at the left of each record. All the photographs were taken and donated by Lara Fletcher, who also donated this record. Feb. 16, 2006 (Off-site Resources)	We have compiled an Index of Scanned Images for Tompkins County. These are the images that Bill Hecht has been scanning for us and the rest of the Finger Lakes Region for years. You can find a link to this page on our Off-Site Resources page. This page, in turn, will link you directly to the images on Bill's pages. Thanks, Bill, for all your hard work!
Feb. 09, 2006 (Off-site Resources)	Our webmaster and her husband are working on a genealogy-only search engine called GenSphere (New York State only right now) in their spare time. Although GenSphere is still being built and websites added, you can currently search all NYGenWeb county sites at once, as well as a small number of other websites, and you can also search the entire state, or limit your search to just one county or several. This is strictly a two-person, after-hours, volunteer effort, but they hope to make GenSphere a valuable resource. Check it out, and if it helps you with your research, or you know of a website you'd like to see added, drop them a line.
