Thank you Roger Howland for sharing this story on the Message Board.

Some of the people buried here were members of the South Danby M. E. Church
History of the South Danby M. E. Church

Cemetery name came from the land owner of where the cemetery was located. First burial (1816) appears to be of the Bradley family. It is unknown if any other burials were here that may be unmarked. 1892 Census has Michael Handy age 72 Farmer, with wife Catherine A. age 64, Pheobe Handy as 22. Michael was not found living in this area in 1850, but was found on the 1866 Danby Map as living where the cemetery is located. He is also living here in 1880 age 57, wife Catherine age 51; with William Lugwig age 22; Carrie Middaugh age 8.

Gay's Gazetteer for Tioga County, the following is on page 186

He has had born to him three children -- Phebe A., deceased, Charles H., and John J., of Owego."
