Hollister Cemetery

The Isaac Hollister Family Burial Ground

Located on what is known today as Beaver Brook Road, about 1/4 mile from the Gravel Bank Office, the cemetery is on the left hand side of Beaver Brook Road on a high bank at the first knoll in the road. Located on the edge of the gravel bank in a group of trees. Cemetery cannot be seen from the road.

Town of Caroline, Tompkins County, NY.
Cemetery is inactive.

Isaac Hollister	d. Sept. 3, 1848 age 67y 7m 18d	son of Isaac & Elizabeth (Newcomb) Hollister [married Ruth Winchell] ("Tompkins County Tombstone Inscriptions" indicates d. Sept. 3, 1818 ae 69y 7m 18d) Headstone is clear, 1848 is the correct death year. No headstone for his wife was found. Winchell family records state she died in 1850, which is incorrect. Another record states she died in 1870 at Caroline Depot, Tompkins Co., NY. She was still living 1860 age 78 yrs. at the time the census was taken on August 27th 1860.
Nancy Hollister, wife of David Coddington	d. March 22, 1846 age 38 yrs., 4 mo., 23 days	d/o Isaac and Ruth (Winchell) Hollister [two records for her death, headstone is very hard to make out. d. May 14, 1846 ae 38y 4m 23d (old cemetery records) OR d. March 22, 1846 (family records)
Kinner Hollister	b. Nov. 4, 1803 d. Sept. 11, 1889	s/o Isaac and Ruth (Winchell) Hollister See a photo of Kinner & Sarah Hollister's monument, provided by Cathy Knauff.
Sarah A. his wife	b. Oct. 21, 1810 d. April 11, 1909	wife of Kinner Hollister & daughter of Charles & Betsey (North) Cooper.
Horace H. Hollister	1829 - 1915	Horace Hilton Hollister, son of Kinner & Sarah Cooper Hollister
Frank C. Mittchell	son of James & Hester A. Mittchell, died Jan. 10, 1858 ae 5y 1m 16d	his mother Hester A. Cooper was the d/o Samuel & Keziah (Hollister) Cooper
Adaline Hollister	dau. of Timothy & Harriet Hollister, died Jan. 18, 1844 age 6y 4m	Her mother was Harriet Coon. Timothy & Harriet are buried in East Lawn Cemetery, Ithaca, NY. Timothy was the son of Isaac & Ruth Winchell Hollister.
