Kresga Philip b. Apr 14, 1825
d. Apr 17, 1895
Philip KRESGA was born in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, April 14, 1825, and died at Trumbull Corners, Tompkins County, New York, April 17, 1895, aged 70 yrs.. His father, Conrad KRESGA, died when Philip was a child. Afterward he came with his mother to the town of Newfield, Tompkins County, New York. At sixteen years of age he learned the trade of wagon-making, at which he worked forty-five years in the place where he died. In October 1853, he married Mary HILL, who died in August 1894. A son, George, and a daughter, Mrs. Herbert SMITH, survive their beloved parents. He was received on probation in the Methodist Episcopal Church by the Rev. Platt T. HUGHSTON, December 20, 1883, and was baptized and received in full membership by the same July 6, 1884. He led a consistent, inoffensive and industrious life. His health had been failing during two or three years, the last of which was one of much suffering, bringing him several times near to death. He bore his afflictions uncomplainingly, though he longed for his release, which at last came peacefully. Rev. Henry C. ANDREWS
