-- Miss Minnie Pangburn who was formerly a teacher in the West Hill School, was married at 8:30 this morning in the Park Baptist Church to a Mr. Farrington of Ulysses. Mr. and Mrs. Farrington left on the 9 o'clock train for a wedding trip.

-- Mrs. Salisbury and daughter Blanche, wife and daughter of Sam Salisbury of the United States Express office of this village, arrived in town last evening from Wellsboro, NY, and will henceforth make Ithaca their home.

NEWFIELD
--Something upwards of a year ago, a little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Underdown died with diphtheria while accompanying her parents on a visit among friends in Canada and the remains of the the little one were there buried. Recently, Mrs. Underdown revisited that locality for the purpose of having the remains of her child taken up to be removed and re-interred in the family grounds at Trumbull's Corners. She returned with the remains last week Wednesday the body being taken in charge by Undertaker Bower and duly buried as above stated.

--The widow of the late Maj. John Puff who formerly resided here, is lying seriously ill at Elmira, NY. On Monday last Dr. C.C. Cook was called by telegraph to pay her a professional visit.

-- James Puff an old gentleman upwards of eighty years old and father of John L. Puff, died Sabbath morning. He is buried today.

-- Mrs. Susan Adams, aged 70, and Mrs. Henry Horton, aged 73, sisters, were both buried last week. They were the children of Mrs. Nancy Smith, who is still living and is 98 years old. Though Mrs. Smith is very hearty for one of her age yet it is feared this double affliction may be more than she can endure.

-- Two men from Ithaca, Pope Beardsley and Chas. Poyer, were arrested last week Friday on complaint of James Bailey of this town, who accused them of coming to his premises and driving away a cow, which they slaughtered. On the other hand the parties accused assert that they had purchased the cow of Bailey. The examination was held before Recorder Tompkins yesterday.

--The funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Alison Bowyer's little babe was held at their residence on Saturday last. Rev. E. E. Morris conducted the services. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in this their sad affliction. It was just two years and one day since they buried a little boy.
