Brooklyn Heights - Joseph A. CHISHOLM, 82, of 8 Clark St. and formerly of Ithaca, died Tuesday, April 19, 1977, in the Northport Veteran's Hospital, Northport, NY. Born in Duluth, Minn., Mr. CHISHOLM was the son of the late Alexander and Isabella MacDonald CHISHOLM and husband of the late Alice VAN ORDER CHISHOLM of Ithaca. He was a veteran of World War I and an accountant. After his retirement, Mr. CHISHOLM did part-time accounting work for the Lincks Club of Brooklyn.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy) WATERMAN of Huntington, L.I.; a son, John CHISHOLM of Simsbury, Conn.; a brother, John CHISHOLM of Minneapolis, Minn.; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the VAN ORDER Funeral Home of Ithaca. Mass will follow at 9 a.m. in the Immaculatate Conception Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Alice VAN ORDER CHISHOLM, formerly of Ithaca died today, Sept. 24, 1954, at her home in Flushing, L.I. after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph CHISHOLM; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde WATERMAN, both of Flushing; a son, John CHISHOLM of Towanda, Pa.; a granddaughter, Patricia Ann CHISHOLM; six sisters, Mrs. Albert RIELLY of Rochester, Mrs. Fred AEBLY of New York City, Mrs. Arden NORTON of Cobleskill, Mrs. Charles SALISBURY of Baltimore, Md., Miss Helen VAN ORDER and Mrs. Donald POTTER, both of Syracuse, and two brothers, James and John VAN ORDER, both of Ithaca.

SYRACUSE - Lucy VANORDER AEBLY of Syracuse, formerly of New York City, died Tuesday, April 21, 1987, at the St. Camillus Rehabilitation and Health Center in Syracuse. She was married to the late Fred AEBLY of New York City.
Mrs. VAN AEBLY was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution at the state and national levels of the New York City chapter DAR and she was a former regent of Golden Hills Chapter DAR in New York City. She held the office of recording secretary of the New York State DAR, and she served as both state and national chairman of DAR approved schools. She also was a member of the President General's Reception Room Committee. At the time of her death, Mrs. VAN AEBLY was a member of the New York State Officer's Club, the board of governors of Robert Morris Jamel Mansion in New York City, and board of trustees of Kate Duncan Smith School in Grant, Ala., where a cottage is named in her honor.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Donald C. POTTER and Miss. Helen VANORDER, both of Baldwinsville, and Mrs. Arden I. NORTON of Cobleskill; a brother, John H. VANORDER of Ithaca: and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Friday, April 24, at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca with the Rev. Bernard Carges officiating. A memorial mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family. Butler and Badman Funeral Home of Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.

The funeral of Mrs. Lucy C. VAN ORDER, widow of Captain Lynn VAN ORDER, was held at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon from the residence, 314 North Albany street. Rev. R.S. NANZ, assistant pastor of St. John's Episcopal church, officiated, and internment was made in Lake View cemetery. The bearers were R.H. WOOL, John KLINE, A.H. VAN ORDER and L.E. PATTERSON. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. M.L. FAHNESTOCK of this city; one granddaughter, Mrs. E.F. GUILFORD of Lancaster, Pa., a grandson, Arnold V. FAHNESTOCK of Binghamton; a sister, Mrs. Blanchard CHAMBERLAIN of Bellefontain, O.; one brother, Henry MILLS of Chattanooga, Tenn,; a great-granddaughter, Miss Elizabeth MEAD of Lancaster, Pa., and a sister-in-law, Miss Mary MERWIN of this city.

Capt. Linn VANORDER Dies in Philadelphia - Death of A. Goodman.
Captain Linn DEWITT VANORDER died yesterday at the home of his niece, Mrs. L.H. STEPHENS, in Philadelphia. He had been ill three weeks with Bright's disease. A week ago it was reported that he was improving but complications set in which were the direct cause of his death. He was 66 years old.
Captain VANORDER was formerly an Ithacan and was intending to move his family here. Already the house recently vacated by Dr. GRIFFIS in South Geneva street, had been rented and the Captain's household effects had been shipped to this city. From Harrisburg; where he had been living the Captain and his wife went to Philadelphia to visit. He was taken ill shortly after arriving there.
Captain VANORDER was born in Ithaca, and was the son of Captain Abram VANORDER, whose death occurred a number of years ago. His early life was spent here and he was educated in the old Ithaca Academy. His first business undertaking was in a hardware concern and a few years later he and his father established a boat building business on the Cayuga Lake Inlet.
About 15 years ago Mr. VANORDER took the position of captain on the Frontenac on Cayuga Lake. In that capacity he served four years and later went to Seneca Lake, where he was captain on the lake steamer for two years. His health began to fail about that time and he was obliged to retire from active life. With his wife, 8 years ago, he moved to Harrisburg to live with his daughter, Mrs. Lena FAHNESTOCK. Beside his wife and daughter, the captain is survived by four sisters, Mrs. D. SAVAGE, Mrs. Helen M. WARREN, and Mrs. Almira L. MINIER, who live at No. 418 North Cayuga street, in this city, and Mrs. John MERWIN, of Elmira.
The remains will be brought to Ithaca for burial.

Mrs. Leda E. Van Order, 79, of 10 Sanford St, Johnson City, died at our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, Thursday, April 23, 1992 at 10:05 a.m. after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore W. VAN ORDER in 1987 and a son Scott P. VAN ORDER in 1985. She is survived by two daughters Scarlett RAKE, Endicott and Sandra PALMER, Deming, N. Mex; five grandchildren, Gaye SAUTRO, Tawni SAUTRO, Tera RAKE, Arden PALMER, Newell PALMER; two great-grandchildren, Rachel PALMER, Jared PALMER, one daughter-in-law Toni VAN ORDER; one sister-in-law Merion CAMPBELL; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral and internment services will be held, Sunday 1 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St. Endicott. The Rev. James A. CORL, Recter of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Endicott will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY. Charles George VANORDER, aged 78 years, died at 1 o'clock this morning after an illness of several months. He has been a resident of this city for the past fifty years and was a prominent contractor. He is survived by his wife, Mary E.; three daughters, Mrs. Carrie PHILLIPS, Miss Avonia and Miss Louise VAN ORDER; one grandson, Leslie C. PHILLIPS, all of this city; and one brother, Friend VANORDER, of Missouri.

Mrs. Erma G. VANORDER, 74, of 511 Cliff St., died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1976, in Tompkins County Hospital. Born in Flint, Mich., daughter of the late Lewis and Florence Curtis LAMB, she was a charter member of the Girl Scouts in Flint, and a member of Pilgrim Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Flint. Also, she was treasurer of Cayuga Lake Chapter of Gold Star Mothers of Ithaca.
Surviving are her widower, Edmund VANORDER; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Carolyn HILLICK VANORDER GEORGE of Newark Valley; two grandsons; a brother, Ray G. LAMB of Ithaca.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Wagner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert McCUNE of St. Paul's United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be Frear Memorial Park. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers are graciously declined. The family suggests that friends who wish may send memorials to the Cancer Fund.

Hezekiah VAN ORDER, aged 77 years, died at 11 o'clock yesterday morning at his home in Jacksonville. He had been in feeble health for some time and for the past six months had been confined to his bed. Mr. VAN ORDER was born in Ithaca and came to Jacksonville to live when a small boy. He was the oldest and last surviving member of a large family, which was highly respected by all. He was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his widow, Sarah E.; five sons, Fred, Howard, Arthur, Wilson and Robert. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from his late home, Rev. Mr. Pasche of Jacksonville officiating. Interment will be in the Trumansburg cemetery.

Humphrey VANORDER, died this morning at his home, No. 201 Columbia street, aged fifty-seven years. Mr. VAN ORDER was born in this city and had always lived here. For the past twentyfive years he had been an iron worker at the foundry now owned by Lang & Button. He was well known and had a large circle of friends. He was a member of the Congregational Church.
The surviving relatives are his wife, Katherine E., one daughter, Mrs. Max KLUEBERT and, a grandchild, two brothers, A. VANORDER, of Brooklyn and Louis VANORDER, of Cortland, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie TINCHER, of Washington. The funeral service will be held from the late residence, Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock to the friends and relatives, Rev. E.A. GEORGE officiating. The burial will be at Lake View cemetery and will be private.

Ira VAN ORDER, one of the city's former boat builders, died at the City Hospital at 10 o'clock Monday night. He was seventy-five years old, was born and had always lived in this city.
Surviving him are three sons, Eugene S. and Harry B. VAN ORDER of Detroit, and William Jerome VAN ORDER of this city; one brother, Varnum S. VAN ORDER of Morgantown, W. Va; four sisters, Mrs. Hannah STILWELL, Mrs. Eliza BROWN, Mrs. Adeline NORTON and Miss Effie VAN ORDER, all of Ithaca.

Harry E. (June) VAN ORDER died Tuesday, July 3, 1945, in Memorial Hospital. For the last 6 years he had made his home with his son, Norbert H. VAN ORDER of 105 Hillview Place.
Operator of the first fleet of taxicabs in Ithaca, he had been motorman for the New York State Electric & Gas Corporation's street railway in Elmira for many years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Besides his son, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Maude VIGNOLA of Albany, and three grandchildren, Jerry John VAN ORDER, Irene Joyce VAN ORDER, and John Albert VAN ORDER.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Wagner Funeral Home, 421 N. Aurora St., by the Rev. A.H. BOUTWELL, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg.
