BEARDSLEY, Mrs. Lewis A. - August 22, 1992
Mrs. Lewis A. BEARDSLEY of New York City, died at the City Hospital following a 10 day illness of acute heart disease. Mrs. BEARDSLEY was stricken at her summer home on the west shore of Cayuga Lake, and was removed to the City Hospital for treatment.
Besides her husband, who is principal of a public school in New York City and a former Ithacan, she leaves four daughters, the Misses Mary, Lydia, Frances and Dorothy BEARDSLEY; two sisters, Mrs. Charles MERVINE of Palmyra and Mrs. Joseph SHULTZ of Lock Haven, Pa.; and two brothers, Dr. Graydon MERVIN of Lock Haven, Pa., and Dr. Robert MERVIN of Sheffield, Pa.
The funeral will be held in New York City. The BEARDSLEYs have spent their summer vacation at their cottage on the west shore of Cayuga Lake for several years. Mrs. BEARDSLEY had been here but a few days this year when she because ill.
HEFFRON, Frank
Frank HEFFRON, 74, of Cortland, died Monday afternoon, May 30, 1960, in the Elm Nursing Home, Cortland, after a long illness. A retired logger, he was a life time resident of the Virgil-Cortland area. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Josephine TERPENING; two brothers, George W. HEFFRON of Munsons Corners and William G. HEFFRON of Virgil; and several nieces and nephews in the Groton area.
Private funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden. The Rev. Leona Sherman, Pastor of the Virgil Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Virgil Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening.
HEFFRON, Berkley DeForrest
Berkley DeForrest HEFFRON, 59, of Brooktondale RD 1, died March 12, 1961, in Tompkins County Hospital after a long illness. Mr. HEFFRON, for more than 30 years, was an inspector at Morse Chain Co. He is survivied by his wife, Mrs. Jessie MIX HEFFRON; four daughters: Mrs. William TOTH and Mrs. Albert HALL, both of Ithaca; Mrs. Ellen TURCSIK of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Francis TEETER of Ludlowville; four sons: Ivan of Freeville RD 3, Erwin, Slaterville Springs, Leo of Memphis, and DeForrest of Poughkeepsie; two sisters, Mrs. LaNelle INK of Freeville RD 2 and Mrs. Lydia WHITCOMB of Candor, and 18 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Wagner Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy Swanson of the South Lansing Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in South Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
BRONG, Mrs. Ellen M.
Mrs. Ellen M. BRONG of 119 Terrace Place, died early today, Oct. 2, 1952, at the Margaret Baker Nursing Home, 1002 N. Aurora St., after a long illness. She was a member of the Practical Nurses of New York Inc., Tompkins County Division, and a past member of the Waterburg Grange.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Morris GERMAN and Mrs. Gertrude VANDERBURGH, both of Ithaca; 2 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice A. DAVIS of Trumansburg and Mrs. Fannie A. KINYOUN of Jacksonville; a brother, William S. ABEL of Manila, P.I., and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Wagner Funeral Home with the Rev. G. H. Mickelsen of Trumansburg officiating. Interment will be in Grove Cemetery.
DILLON, Stephen A.
Funeral services for Stephen A. DILLON, 82, of East Homer, who died Oct. 3, 1952, in Cortland County Hospital after a long illness, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Earle W. Wright Funeral Home, Cortland, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cortland. Burial will be in East Homer Cemetery. Mr. DILLON was a brother of William A. DILLON of Ithaca, and until his retirement several years ago was widely known in theatrical circles.
He is also survived by four other brothers, John DILLON of East Homer, and August I. DILLON, Arthur B. DILLON, and Laurence M. DILLON, all of Cortland; a sister, Mrs. James S. SHEVLIN of Cortland, a niece, and five nephews.

Funeral services for Thomas SCOTT of 531 S. Meadow St., who died Friday, Oct. 10, 1952, in Tompkins County Memorial Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. in the Garrity Funeral Home, Jamestown. ROBINSON, Frank O.
Frank O. ROBINSON, 94, of 328 Center St., died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1952, at his home after a short illness. A harness maker for about 40 years, he worked for Calkins & Tichenor and later conducted a repair shop for Treman, King & Co. He retired in 1939. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roger DENNIS and Mrs. Clyde ROOT; a son, George ROBINSON; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, all of Ithaca, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:15 a.m. Thursday in the Herson Funeral Home, 110 S. Geneva St., followed by a High Mass of Requiem in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 9 a.m.

FERRISS, Mrs. Bess R.
Mrs. Bess R. FERRISS of 306 Lake St., Elmira, formerly 215 Bryant Ave., and widow of Prof. E. N. Ferriss, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 8, 1952, in Arnot-Ogden Hospital, Elmira, after an extended illness. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy F. Codet of Elmira Heights; a son, Donald E. Ferriss of Arlington, Va.; a grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Ballard Funeral Home, 161 Oakwood Ave., Elmira Heights, with the Rev. John F. Stearns officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
BROWN, Edward T.
Edwart T. BROWN, 89, a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of the Town of Dryden, died early today, Oct. 11, 1952, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thurlow WHITMAN, in Etna.
Besides his daughter he is survived by a son, Stanley BROWN of Groton, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Whitman home, Etna, with the Rev. Charles Hunt of the Etna Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
JORDAN, Mrs. Rachel
Mrs. Rachel JORDAN, 78, died at her home in Lovely Vale, Candor, this morning, Oct. 10, 1952, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 23, 1874, at Richford, daughter of the late Franklin and Ellen Stewart JORDAN and has since early childhood been a resident of Candor.
She is survived by her husband, LaMont JORDAN; 4 daughters, Mrs. Albert WILSON, Candor, Mrs. Delos BACON, Ithaca, Mrs. Arlington FISH, Danby and Mrs. Paul KELSEY, Candor; 2 sons, Lawrence and Richard JORDAN of Ithaca; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 2 sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.

Miss Mary CORGEL, 85, of 620 W. Court St., died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 9, 1952, at her home after a long illness. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. John Gainey; 2 brothers, Alfred and Joseph Corgel, all of Ithaca and several nieces and nephews.

Frank A. BARDWELL, 83, of Pearl St., Newfield, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 1956, in Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Trumansburg, he was a member of Mt. Horem Presbyterian Church, Lexington, Ky., where he lived for a number of years. He was also a member of king Hiram Lodge 784 F. and A. Masons of Newfield. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Caroline BARDWELL of Newfield; a grandson, Robert E. BARDWELL of Paris, Ky., a great-grandson, Robert and a great-granddaughter, Carolyn BARDWELL of Paris; two nieces; three nephews and a cousin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Allen Funeral Chapel, Newfield, with the Rev. Allen Barrett of the Newfield Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Newfield.

Mrs. Marion OWEN, 73, of 207 Stewart Ave., died Thursday at noon in St. Francis Hospital, Miami, Fla., where she was on vacation. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Ellie OWEN and Mrs. Alexander KISH, both of Ithaca; a son, Wilfred OWEN of Hobbs, N. M., two grandsons; three granddaughters; a sister, Mrs. Thomas SYMONDS of Montreal, Canada. Funeral arrangements in charge of the Shea Funeral Home will be announced later.
CLARK, James
Funeral services for James CLARK of Ludlowville who died Nov. 18, 1956, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Ludlowville Methodist Church with the Rev. Erwin Bennett, pastor, officiating. Bearers were Joseph MCGILL, Russell LANE, Levi WOOD, Clayton BRADLEY, Carl KINTZ and Gerald LEWIS. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ludlowville.
TRAVIS, Raymond E., Former Fire Chief
Raymond E. (Shady) TRAVIS, 70, of the Trumansburg road, retired chief of the Ithaca Fire Department in which he served 41 years, died at 2:20 a.m. today, Nov. 20, 1956, in Tompkins County Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health for some time and was taken to the hospital Saturday.
He was unable to attend a dinner given in his honor Thursday night in the Lehigh Valley Restaurant by some 115 volunteers, paid men and officials of the Fire Department. A plaque containing a tribute was received by his son, C. Raymond TRAVIS, and the program was tape-recorded for the retired chief's benefit.
He and his wife attended the dinner in his honor given by the Ithaca Paid Firemen's Assn. In Hotel Ithaca Oct. 30, the day before his retirement.
Made Chief in 1941
Chief TRAVIS joined the Ithaca Fire Department in 1915, became assistant chief in 1922, acting chief in 1942, and chief in 1943 upon the death of Chief Bernard J. REILLY.
He was born in Newark Valley and later moved with his family to Owego where he was graduated from Owego Free Academy. He first came to Ithaca in 1903. He worked at various jobs and by 1913 he was a property man at the old Wharton movie studio located on the Bryant farm on E. State St.
He became a volunteer member of Torrent Hose Company 5, and on March 1, 1915, he quit at the Wharton studio and was assigned by the late Chief REILLY as fireman-driver at the Knox pumper truck of Company 5. The truck had replaced the horses the year he became a volunteer.
Chiefs Assn. Member
He was a member of the International Fire Chiefs Assn., the Eastern Fire Chiefs Assn., and the State Fire Chiefs Assn. Of which he was chairman of the Auditing Committee for three years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Ithaca Lodge 636, BPO Elks.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth S. TRAVIS; one son, C. Raymond TRAVIS of Ithaca; three daughters, Miss Doris TRAVIS of Ithaca, Mrs. Kenneth PARKINSON of Trumansburg RD 3, and Mrs. Malcolm MANN of Ithaca; eight grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Marguerite WELLS of Binghamton.
HANMER, George Curtis
George Curtis HANMER, 53, of 308 Titus Ave., died unexpectedly today, Nov. 23, 1956, at his home, after a heart attack. He was an accountant at the New York State Electric and Gas Corp., for the past 33 years and a member of the Quarter Century Club of that organization. He was also a member of Ithaca Lodge 638, BPO Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen M. HANMER; a son, David W. HANMER, two daughters, Miss Doris and Miss Carol HANMER, all of Ithaca; his mother, Mrs. Edith HANMER; a sister, Mrs. Irene OLIVER, and a niece, Miss Patricia OLIVER, all of Corning.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wagner Funeral Home, 421 N. Aurora St., with the Rev. Edward L. Christie, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating.

SNYDER, Milton E.
Milton E. SNYDER, a well known and prominent farmer, died at 9:30 o'clock last night at his home on the Ellis Hollow road. He was 54 years of age. He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Miss Florence M. SNYDER; two sons, Paul H. and Dr. Walter C., the latter being a veterinarian in Company 10 at Camp Greenleaf, Ga.
Mr. SNYDER was a member of the Ithaca Lodge 71, I. O. O. F., and he also belonged to Canton Ithaca 58 and to Hawthorn Rebekah lodge.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the residence. Interment will be in East Lawn cemetery.
SNYDER, Mrs. Matie L.
Mrs. Matie L. SNYDER, 85, died early today, Mar. 4, 1955, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Buryl MITCHELL, 109 Cook St. Formerly of White Church, she had been making her home with her daughter since the death of her husband, Jay SNYDER, 14 years ago.
Besides Mrs. MITCHELL, she is survived by nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Snyder, 76, of the West Danby Rd., Town of Newfield, died today, Tuesday, April 8, 1952, in the Hatttie Ann Nursing Home, Spencer.
She was the widow of DeWitt SNYDER and had been a resident of Newfield most of her life.

Mrs. Carrie Dean VINT, 76, widow of Samuel VINT, died at her home on the Town Line Road, Trumansburg, today, April 12, 1952, after an extended illness.

Miss Ora D. SWEET, 82, formerly of Trumansburg, died at her home in Daytona Beach, Fla., Thursday, April 10, 1952. She leaves no survivors.

Miss Lulu B. BARBER, 71, a retired school teacher and native of Ithaca, died Monday, April 14, 1952, in Brockport. She lived in Ithaca a number of years and taught school in Tompkins County and in Brockport. She is survived only by cousins.

VORHIS, Mrs. Susie
Mrs. Susie CHARLES VORHIS, 75, widow of William H. Vorhis, died Monday, April 14, 1952, at her home in Horseheads. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Horseheads and a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church. Surviving are a son, Dewain VORHIS of Horseheads; two brothers, Dewain CHARLES of Ithaca and LeRoy CHARLES of Albany, and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Cora B. ELLIS, 72, wife of Louis D. ELLIS of the Ithaca-Slaterville Rd., died late Monday, April 14, 1952, in Memorial Hospital after a long period of failing health.
Born in Dryden, Oct. 16, 1879, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Olive TRIM WICKHAM.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, DeForest ELLIS and Leland ELLIS both of Ithaca; a daughter, Mrs. F. Van Wormer WALSH Jr., of Fair Lawn, N.J., and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Emma C. FERGUSON, 81, a resident of the IOOF State Home on the Trumansburg Rd. For nearly 5 years, died there today, July 18, 1952, after a long illness. She was affiliated at the Home with Mohawk Valley Lodge No. 12 of Schenectady. She is survived by several nieces.
The body will be sent to Schenectady on Saturday, where funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery there. Friends may call this evening at the Allen Funeral Chapel, Newfield.

Henry MURRAY, 95, of 327 W. State St., died Thursday, July 24, 1952, in the Murray Nursing Home, Genoa, after a long illness. At one time he was proprietor and operator of a stone quarry in King Ferry. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rena HETHERINGTON; 2 sisters, Mrs. John WARD and Mrs. Harry FELSINGER and a brother, William MURRAY, all of Ithaca; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Carl E. BRUCE, 81, of 222 S. Hooper Ave., Auburn, died Tuesday, July 22, 1952, in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. A resident of Groton for many years he was a retired employee of the L. C. Smith & Corona Typewriters Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie BRUCE; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel STEVENS; a granddaughter, Mrs. Marjorie YAPLE, and a great granddaughter, Sylvia YAPLE, all of Auburn.

For the last 7 years, Mr. MCLAREN was a chemist at the International Salt Company Inc. at Myers. Before that he was chemist of the company's Watkins plant for 19 years.

Funeral services for Erkki J. JYLHA of Spencer who died July 27, 1952, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Allen Funeral Home, Spencer, with Matt Wick in charge of the service.
Bearers were Arthur HOGLUND, Leo KAUPPILA, Leander SAVO, Kust POLHO, Edward PYLKAS, and Richard KONSEN. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
WELCH, Mrs. Cora Emma
Mrs. Cora Emma Welch, a resident of Ithaca for many years, died yesterday, July 30, 1952, after a long illness.
Born Jan. 14, 1867, at Clyde, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret FITZSIMMONS SENECAL. She was the widow of Jeremiah WELCH.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Cora A. and Miss Sarah A. WELCH, both of Ithaca and a son, Jerry J. WELCH of Hot Springs, Ark.
Prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Gilbert Memorial Home, 125 E. Buffalo St. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
STODDARD, Mrs. Dora
Mrs. Dora STODDARD, 86, a resident of West Hill and Chipman Corners in the vicinity of Groton many years, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1952, in Mercy Hospital, Auburn. Mrs. STODDARD was the widow of Iva STODDARD.
She is survived by a grandson, Ward CARPENTER, of Chester, Pa.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Patricia FRANCIS of Morristown, N.., and Mrs. Mildred SINCLAIR of New York City; a great-granddaughter, Mrs. Patricia CULVER of Cortland, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Robert J. Booth, 110 Elm St., Groton. Burial will be in Groton Rural Cemetery.
CORNELL, Mrs. Elen Augusta
Mrs. Elen Augusta CORNELL, wife of Ex-Governor Alonzo B. CORNELL, died at four o'clock this morning at their cottage on the Cornell University campus. She has been in poor health nearly two years, and for the past four months has been confined to the house.
Mrs. CORNELL was a lady of superior character and accomplishments whose memory will be cherished by a wide circle of friends throughout this state and far beyond its borders. During the Governor's active public career her home was distinguished for its genial and refined hospitality. Both in Albany and New York she was a zealous worker in many charitable organizations.
Her funeral will occur on Sunday afternoon at the chapel of the Cornell University.
SMITH, Horace I.
The death of Horace I. Smith occurred early this morning at his home in Cascadilla building. The deceased was born in the town of Dryden sixty-five years ago. When quite young he went to Ohio, where he was engaged in business for several years. Later he returned to Tompkins county, and for some years was engaged in the manufacture of sewing silk in Ithaca. Then he dealt for some time in real estate and had considerable to do with the erection of some of the large buildings in this city. Among those are the Sprague block, which he built as part-owner, the Ithaca High School building and ex President White's house, in the constructionof which he represented the owners of the property. For about three years past Mr. Smith had been employed by the University as superintendent of the campus and buildings.
Last February he contracted a severe cold which developed into consumption. In June he went to the North Woods, but was not benefitted.
Nearly forty years ago he married Miss Mary E. GAY, sister of Charles W. GAY of this city and F. C. GAY of Topeka. No children were born to them. Two brotehrs and two sisters of the deceased survive him: William M. SMITH, of Ithaca, and John M. SMITH, of Dryden, Mrs. William SNYDER and Mrs. Azel LAWRENCE, also of the town of Dryden.
Of Mr. SMITH's character, those who knew him best speak most highly. He was the thorough business man, the devoted husband, the faithful friend. To those who had but a passing acquaintance he was the kind hearted gentleman.
The funeral will occur Monday at 8 o'clock from his home in Cascadilla building. The remains will be interred in East Lawn cemetery.
MILLER, Miss Margaret
The obsequies of Margaret MILLER, who entered into rest on the 19th inst., were held this afternoon at 8 o'clock at the residence of the bereaved parents, William H. and Mary HALSEY MILLER, No. 22 Eddy street, and were conducted by Rev. A. S. Fisko and Rev. J. M. Scott.
Beautiful music was rendered by Mr. G. M. Chadwick on the pipe organ to Mr. MILLER's house and Miss Smith of Conservatory sang. The remains were placed temporarily, in Mrs. McGraw's vault. Among the friends from out of town present at the services were Mrs. Birdsey BLAKEMAN and daughter, Mrs. LEWIS, of New York; Mrs. L. G. WANFEL, Utica; Mr. Fred THOMPSON, Hollanad PATENT and Mr. J. Colin FORBES, Rochester.
LANG, Mayor
Mayor LANG has the kind sympathy of the citizens of Ithaca inthe death of his wife Frances Geraldine PATTERSON, which took place at her late residence No. 61 Farm street, on Monday. Forty-one yars ago she was married to Mayor LANG in Glastonbury, Ct., and came with him to Ithaca ten years later. She leaves one child, Bessie G. LANG, and three sisters, Mrs. Phil RYDER, Mrs. Grace L. JUDSON of Syracuse and Mrs. Orr HUNT. The funeral took place yesterday and the interment is at East Lawn.
FOOTE, Mrs. Pamela
Mrs. Pamela FOOTE died early Wednesday morning, aged 80 years. She was the widow of James FOOTE. Her relatives and friends new her but to love and respect her, not only for her good qualities, but for her unselfish devotion to the interests of others. Her funeral will be held from the Episcopal Church on Thursday.
Death of BANGS, Lucy A.
Last Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock, Lucy A. BANGS, a sister of Mrs. A. Z. MALTBY and Mrs. D. C. BORRY, of Fort Winnebago, passed away from earth. "God's finger touched her and she slept." Her former home and native place was Groton, Tompkins Co., N. Y. About two years ago Mrs. MALTBY went east and prevailed upon her sister, who was a maiden lady, to come with her to her western home and there reside for the future, which arrangement was perfected and was being enjoyed when one week ago Tuesday, the 6th inst., she was struck with paralysis, and a week later died from the shock. She was in the sixty-first year of her age, and highly esteemed by those who knew her virtues. She was a worthy member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The funeral was held at the residence of A. Z. MALTBY to-day, at eleven o'clock A.M., Rev. A. S. Collins performing the funeral rites.
HANFORD, George
The death of George HANFORD took place on Thursday morning. The funeral was held at his late residence on Saturday, Rev. Mr. Owens officiating. The deceased was 79 years old and a life-long resident of this county. Among those present at the funeral was Jasper HANFORD and daughter of Ithaca, and D. F. FINCH of Cortland.
WHITMORE, George
In this city, Jan. 22, 1893, George WHITMORE, aged 81 years died. Funeral services at his late residence, 72 North Cayuga street, Tuesday at 2 P.M.
SNYDER, Miss Ada
Miss Ada SNYDER, aged about forty five years, committed suicide last night in the town of Dryden, by hanging. Miss SNYDER had been staying for a few days at the residence of Ex Supervisor J. H. GEORGE and took her life on his premises. There are no particulars concerning the tragedy. The deceased was well-to-do. She lived in this city several years going from here to Dryden recently. She was a niece of Mr. Joseph SNYDER, the well known cattle dealer.
LANING, Richard M.D.
Once more death has taken from our ranks one of our oldest citizens Richard LANING, M.D., died at his home in this village on Thursday, May 31st, in the 80th year of his age of senile degeneration. He was born at Ulysses, in this county, on the 7th of November, 1803, moved to McLean and began the practice of his profession on the 3rd of March 1828 over fifty years ago. He was a member of the Zion Protestant Episcopal church here and has been its senior warden since its organization. He leaves a wife and two sons; Henry LANING, M.D., of Mission Hospital, Osaka, Japan, and Sylvester LANING, M.D. of Kingman, Kansas. Dr. LANING was the father of four sons all of whom were successful physicians. The funeral services took place from the Baptist church on Sabbath afternoon, Rev. J. A. ROBINISON, rector of Grace church, Cortland, officiating. Drs. GREENE of Home, HYDE and JEWETT of Cortland, FITCH of Dryden and BOYCE of McLean were present and with the large and sympathetic audience testified in stronger terms than words, of their high regard and love for one who had stood with perhaps the greater portion of the large congregation over the sick, and in hundreds of cases, the dying beds of their loved ones. A good man has gone to his rest.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Gilbert Undertaking Parlors, 125 East Buffalo Street. The Rev. H. G. Burley will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sara CRANCE of Rochester, Mrs. Lena SMITH and Miss Ethel WEBSTER of Ithaca, a son, John WEBSTER of Poplar Ridge; a sister, Mrs. Maria HAIGHT of Groton, two step-daughters, Mrs. Cora MARKS of Cortland and Mrs. Clinton SCOTT of Ithaca, and two step-sons, Clarence SEAMAN of Syracuse and Loren SEAMAN of Ithaca.
CART, Henry
Henry CART, 65, of West Danby, died this morning, July 6, 1935. The body is at the Middaugh Funeral Parlors, 319 West State Street. Mr. CART is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond SEAMON of North Spencer and Mrs. Clifford BESTIN of Bald Hill, and a son of North Spencer. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
GALLOW, Leroy M.
Leroy M. GALLOW, 62, died at 9:15 o'clock this morning at his home, 125 Linn Street. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Gilbert Undertaking Parlors, 125 East Buffalo Street. The Rev. A. P. Coman will officiate. Burial will be in Lansingville.
He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Lulu M. SEAMON, of Ithaca, and a sister, Mrs. Nettie CASTERLINE of Lansingville. Mr. GALLOW was a member of the Lansingville Grange.
PATRICK, Edward
Edward PATRICK, 56, a lifelong resident of the vicinity of Interlaken, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 1945, at his home near Interlaken after a long illness. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruth PATRICK, and a sister, Mrs. Edward HANDLEN of Covert, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hurlbutt Funeral Home in Interlaken by the Rev. Merton Fitzgerald of the Covert Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Interlaken.
POTTER, Watson
Watson POTTER, 50, of Danby, died at 6:30 a.m. today, Aug. 14, 1945, in Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary POTTER; 3 daughters, Mrs. Frances BRUCE, Miss Dorothy POTTER and Miss Elaine POTTER of Danby, and 4 sons, Private Donald, who is stationed at Spokane, Wash, and William, Raymond, and Ronald of Danby. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
